Optima Group is a software developing company with offices in Cluj and Bucharest. They contacted me to redesign the image for their main software product – Optimal – Sales&Management, and design some splash-screens for the application. Our collaboration was great and I ended up proposing a new identity for the group and all their products.
I aimed for a cleaner, sharper, stronger, more structural look, that could be adapted for their products without loosing consistency.
Concept: The optimum solution to a multifaceted problem like software engineering reflected in diagonal line that connects two opposite corners. It’s the shortest path – direct & efficient, and I enjoyed that it reminded me of the ominous problem (that is solved with Dijkstra’s algorithm #geekout).
The square is a sharp and balanced geometric form; it’s divided into triangles – a multitude of pieces which, if assembled right, take the geometry from three sides to four (and this way, the logo keeps a bit of the previous concept they worked with – the puzzle piece).
The new format contains a stylized letter in each logo: O for Optima group , and for the Optimal products we have M for sales&Merchandising, W for Warehouse, F for Field services, A for fixed Assets, and E for EDI. This way, the logos will be distinguishable even at small sizes, and will work great as icons for the products as well.
The new image also allows for an easily extendable graphic system.
